Check back every Friday after Survivor for TV Tim's thoughts and comments about what took place!

Week 12
PEACE AT CAMP???

Survivor is like Chess, you have to think many plays ahead not just what is short term. Jonathan was a fun player to watch. He is a thinker and I liked him. Last nights vote to get rid of him because there would be "more peace at camp" is short term thinking! Adam should have been voted off because he is a bigger threat. Yul said it brilliantly a few weeks ago that Jonathan was predictable....because he was...they had him in a corner and could count on him. Now, the final 4 that Yul had is starting to erode. This opens the door for Adam and Parvati....I am not happy with that one. Jonathan may be annoying to some but that boy played the game! I would love to see Ozzie or Yul win it but it looks as though they are going to be at odds coming up. It is fun to watch at this point because everyone is on pins and needles because of trust. With last nights vote Probst said "trust should be an issue for every single person". What seemed to be strong is up for anyone at this point. I loved watching Ozzie, Yul, and Becky decide to hide the food and flip when Adam and Parvati brought some back for them....stick to the plan guys! Two episodes left with 6 players? I wonder how many will be sitting in the final because the jury is supposed to be an odd number??? It is going to be a great race to the end!

Keep on Surviving and think long term!

Week 11
Is It A Game?

I loved this past episode of Survivor! It had all of what us fans are looking for and more. Two weeks ago when Jonathan and Candice jumped to the other team, poor Aitu was down 8-4. How things can turn, last night with it being still 5-4, the merge came. The only hope Aitu had was to flip Jonathan. Yul is one of them most brilliant players to play! He knows this is a game, Yul got passed his emotions of being hurt and disappointed, then persuaded Jonathan to flip! What a move! Adam, Candice, Parvati, and Nate are mad...especially Nate getting voted off. Wait a minute is this a game or not? By the way, Raro is playing it is like they are looking for lifelong friendships and everybody just to do what they want. Sorry guys, I think Jonathan should be commended for taking a shot while he had it. It is Survivor, and unless I am mistaken, Jonathan is Surviving. Aitu (yes they have merged but it is still 2 groups of alliances) is in control now. The sparks are just beginning to fly...Jonathan is brilliant but can't flip anymore. Yul is going far. Next week if Adam doesn't win Immunity...the cuddly boy is gone, then Parvati, then Candice. It will be interesting then to see how far Yul will try to carry Jonathan. Remember the final two...you want to be sitting there with people everyone doesn't like!

Until next week, keep on Survin, and remember this is a game!

Week 10
Revenge or Strategy???

It has been a long time since I rooted so strong for one team...but I like Aitu! The alliance of Yul, Sundra, Ozzie, and Becky has got it going on. When Candice jumped shipped last week and Jonathan followed, it pulled together a foursome to be reckoned with. A team that was hungry, dirty, lonely, and sleep deprived all of a sudden are motivated, strong, and have found purpose. Thank you Candice! When Aitu won their third straight challenge and sent Candice back to Exile, Yul said "revenge or strategy....same thing". Either way or both they are on a roll. Raro may have the numbers but are not driven by anything. Finding a purpose, even if it is for 39 days in the South Pacific is what everyone needs. I hope the merge doesn't happen for a while, I want Aitu to keep on winning and take the numbers. Last week what was a 8-4 ratio has now become a 5-4 ratio. If Aitu looses next week, watch for Sundra to go, if it is Raro again, I think Jonathan may be sent packing. I am so happy that they are already stacking the Jury (watch out guys, they remember everything).

.....my friends who are Survivor fans....it is getting good, really good!!!

Have a great week, keep on Survivin' and find a purpose! It will help!!!

Week 9
Who Got Kicked Off: Brad
TV Tim's Comments: Got to give a shout- out to the girls at Gamma Phi Beta at the University of San Diego who love this blog each week! Especially Happy 20th Birthday, Katie...you keep surviving girl!!!

Timing is everything in this game. There are still 2 teams, yes, alliances and divisions, but still 2 teams. We started off the game last night with Brad saying "everyman for himself"...Brad, great thought, but keep it to yourself! I don't remember ever when players were given the opportunity to jump to the other team until last night. I understand Candice a little more wanting to do it because of Adam and Parvati (however, it will get her later) but what was Jonathan thinking? Candice and Jonathan were sitting somewhat tight with Yul and Becky with Ozzy most likely going next. When Jonathan jumped teams, he put himself in a tight squeeze. Remember this game is about trust...now, nobody trusts him. Candace was sitting nice, yes, her friends were on Raro, but she had the trust of Yul and Becky...now she doesn't. This mutiny has really united Aitu as a strong force! It was interesting last night when Brad got voted off and placed as the first jury member! People don't forget. Brad has a vote, and like our parents said "every vote count." Nate told a bold-faced lie to Brad and he knows it...sorry, Nate. Remember what you do to others comes back around...play nice and play fair or use Will Ferrell's advice from the movie Kicking and Screaming..."cheat, just don't get caught."

Until next week, keep on Survivin and go Gamma Phi!

Week 8
Who Got Kicked Off: Flica
TV Tim's Comments: We are back to the Survivor I love. Back to tough challenges, strategic decisions, and yes, great maneuvering by the players. It is the time in the game with 12 left that you not only look at the team at where you are at, but look ahead to the merge...they are thinking about it. At least Jonathan, who is known now for really thinking ahead, is a great mental player. Like a chess player he is looking into the future, problem for him is, he may not be there. Ozzie is the best survivor off of the land, sea, providing, etc...but Oz, even though a provider, is seen as a threat at the merge. The best player out there now is Yul. He is playing the game the best...very strong alliances, he is not annoying others, and is wicked smart with relationships...watch that boy go far! Since this game is about relationships...it's the ones with alliances that go far! If Aitu is back to Tribal, we could see Jonathan go next, if it is Raro look for Rebecca to go. We are in a dead heat battle now with 6 players on each team and each team having some great athletes, thinkers, and strong wills. In fact, I don't remember better matched teams ever! Jeff Probst said at that "only time will tell" on who has momentum, and he is right. Both teams believe they have it, and that will make for some great shows ahead!

Until next week, keep on Suriving and build some great relationships!

Week 7
TV Tim's Comments: These episodes of looking back are not my favorite. I love the new fresh shows that keep us on our toes. However, there was some insight giving into Thursday's show, not a lot, but some. We were reminded: Billy really is goofy with his "love at first sight" stance. Parvati thinks she is all that with the boys (I think the girls see her trying to make her moves and the boys are wise also)...Parvati won't last as long as she thinks trying to play both sides. JP really did get the sucker punch. Cristina cried the blues of poor pitiful me. And Cao Boi is a little out there and always pushes the social envelope. What we learned new was: Adam and Candace have a pretty strong alliance. Ozzie really is a great provider...but watch out, you got to have the really great alliance in this game to last...he doesn't seem to have that. Becky is a player. Stephanie cannot not only sing but act. The biggest thing we learned was that there are some strong alliances that are going to be coming out in the days ahead. And yes as we have said, this Survivor was tagged as a Survivor of Races is still the same old Survivor of only one wins...doesn't matter the color of skin...one goes home with the bucks, and the others are disappointed because it wasn't them.

Week 6
Who Got Kicked Off: Cao Boi & Cristina
TV Tim's Comments: No matter how skilled you might be at catching fish (by the way, Ozzie is a master) or how hard of a worker you are...Survivor boils down to "alliances." This game is built on alliances and trust. We see it every time the game is played, people get voted out because they don't have enough people on their side. Yes, hard work and attitude will build good trust and friendships...but, the way things are played out with writing someone's name down is based off of relationships from the beginning! 14 days in and I think Jenny should have gone last night before Christina...but Jenny had the tribe on her side. I loved the challenge last night with pulling people from the poles and dragging them thru the sand. The boys got rough, but the girls fight dirty! Flicka was scratching, chocking, and ripping off the clothes of other girls...it was funny to see Jeff Probst reminding the girls not to choke others...how old are they???

Survivor, just like everyday work and life...get along with others, play well, and build great alliances, or as I like to call them "friends." When the going gets tough, Ozzie, your fish isn't going to save you, but your relationships will.

Week 4
Who Got Kicked Off: JP
TV Tim's Comments: No matter where you are or what you have been given in life...use it! Survivor, as we see every week and especially last night, is a game about personalities and relationships! JP is a 30 year old pro volleyball player, nice looking (that is what my daughters said), and probably one of the most physical players on his team. He wasn't by far the weakest link. Yet, he laid around and was the leader of the pack. As Nate said, "The king sits pretty." The girls of Raro don't like to get bossed around when you are sitting on your duff. JP and the guys thought that they had it under control. Yeah for Jenny when she aligned the girls, got a couple of guys also and shocked JP with a 7-2 vote. I believe, personality, a good work ethic, and understanding people goes a whole lot further than just good looks and great physical strength. Let this be a testament that you gotta work hard. No matter where you are at and what you are doing...put some effort in it! This show is so great to watch, because one little thing you do or say can tilt the scales. JP, you are sitting pretty now back at the ranch while the others...with less to offer, at least offered it.

Week 3
Who Got Kicked Off: Cecilia
TV Tim's Comments: Just like life, things change very quickly on Survivor. This season was promoted as a division of races, after only 8 days they dropped their buffs and became 2 tribes and a whole new game. People think they are in control, safe, and a long way from being voted out...watch out. We saw alliances flying together with Yul and Johnathon being masterminds, I liked their quick approach. Flicka had me laughing with "I am just here to make friends and see what happens"...is she that ditsy?! Every time it comes to the vote, I am still amazed at the words that come out of peoples mouth when they are writing someone's name down..."NOTHING PERSONAL". Ha, it's totally personal! That's what this game is about, it is all personal. Ozzy said Cecilia didn't reach out to be his friend, so "nothing personal, I am voting you out." It is personal. Feelings get hurt because it is personal. It is not personal if your name isn't written down. This is a game of tribes, alliances, mergers, strategies, trust, mistrust, fear, and self preservation...it is a game about getting ahead and getting what you want. It is about saving your own skin. I say it is personal.

Personally for me, it is my favorite reality show to watch. Personally for me, I pray it is a game some day I get to play! Oh, it is personal, they just need to realize it.

Week 2
Who Got Kicked Off: Billy
TV Tim's Comments: According to The Disney movie The Hunchback Of Notre Dame..."God Loves The Outcast," but I can tell you Survivor players don't! Even though these tribes are divided by race, every tribe has an "outcast." Now that they have been together for 4 days, personalities are clicking and tempers are flaring. Gotta love it! This is what makes Survivor great to watch. It isn't the starting of a fire, or in the case of Hiki tribe, the lack of starting a fire. It isn't watching them catch fish, though in the Cook Islands, food is not a shortage. It is the personality clashes that I enjoy the most. What in the world would make a tribe throw a challenge to vote off someone they don't like??? I just don't get it. Why work so hard to make Survivor and then on purpose throw a challenge to get rid of "dead weight". It makes no sense to me. Even my 12 year old son said why on purpose vote someone out when you have to vote people out eventually. Even a 12 year old, granted he is my son, and Survivor on Thursday is "Family Night," knows that what Aitu did by throwing the challenge and voting out Billy was ignorant, stupid, short sighted, selfish,...and many other comments I could write. This one is going to get them in due time. Even though Billy was an outcast, he was still their tribemate. In life, just like Survivor, you gotta get along with people that you don't like, trust me on that one! Until next week, put up with some outcasts and keep your eyes on the ultimate goal.

Week 1
Who Got Kicked Off: Sekou
TV Tim's Comments:People are people....divide them into race, gender, nationality, economic status and you will still get the same things: people want to win, people will get along with certain people and not with others, some people think higher of themselves than others, some people think less of them selves than they should, people want to win money! Anyway you cut it, it is still Survivor - outwit, outlast, outplay! Someone is going to win a million dollars and the other 19 will wish it was them. I like the start of this one. You have to mix it up and producer Mark Burnett did a great job doing it. When it came down to one tribe, or one ethnic group going to Tribal Council last night, it broke into men vs. women...and the women because it was 3 vs 2 won out. I laughed as Sekou thought of himself as the great leader...yeah, great leader you got voted out because you thought something about yourself that no one else did. Survivor has such a way of bringing stuff out of people, the good and the bad, we see what they are made of and what they are not. This Survivor is going to be a great one to watch...it may start out as a tribes of races but don't forget: people are people. I, for one, am looking forward to it!!!
